Q: Where can I get instructions on how to install Fortress products?
A: General installation instructions are provided to everyone on the website under the installation tab. Click here to see all installation instructions offered. There are
also educational installation videos currently available for our Fence products (Classic Fence, Versai Fence and Estate Fence). For non-standard installations, a
Fortress representative or customer service can help with any questions.

Q: Are the Fortress panels a true height? Ex: Is the 48” PIP panel really a true 4’ tall?
A: Most Fortress railing and fence panels are constructed using the actual height. Each product you view on our website should indicate the exact dimensions of its
length and height.

Q: Based on the 93.5” length, how far apart should I set my posts?
A: The panel system is based on an 8’ on center standard that is very common in most markets. Setting posts exactly 8’ from center to center of post would leave the
perfect amount of spacing to install the panels. Brackets must be factored into the scenario, which create ¼” on either side. This half inch, the 93.5” in panel, and the
inch on either side of the posts will give you your 96” (8ft) length.

Q: Do post caps come with posts? Do screws come with brackets?
A: The costs of both posts and brackets are inclusive of the caps and screws. The post includes a nylon flat cap, which can easily be replaced by an alternative cap if
needed. The brackets are packaged with stainless steel self-tapping screws that are ideal for installing into iron or metal. If the installation calls for a wood post
installation, wood screws will need to be provided by the installer.

Q: What is the difference between an IPO and a PIP panel?
A: The IPO panel is what we refer to as an Iron Panel for Ornament. This panel is going to include the 13” pre-welded ring in the center of the panel. This allows you
to install the insert of your choice for a more decorative look. The PIP panel is just your straight, 2-rail flat-top panel without any decoration.

Q: Do your railing and fence panels come in the same finishes as the pickets?
A: The standard fence panel program is only stocked in Gloss Black. Classic Railing Panels are available in Gloss Black and also in two premium textured finishes:
Rustic Brown and Antique Bronze. Also available is the Fortress Custom Color Program that will allow the customer to order railing and fence panels in an
assortment of colors. Fortress has a listing of colors that can be produced, some of which include some textured finishes that are extremely unique and would be a
nice accent for some jobs. Please ask your local retailer or distributor for details.

Q: Are samples available?

a hand-held size for easy viewing.

Q: How do I find my local retailer or distributor?
A: You may contact a Fortress Iron team member at (toll free) 1-866-323-4766 or contact sales@fortressiron.com for information on how to get in touch with a local
supplier. Fortress covers almost the entire continental United States and Canada, so most customers will have an outlet of purchasing near to them.

Q: What if I need a panel that is shorter than the lengths you offer? Can I cut it? If so, how?
A:The only option to achieve a shorter length panel is to cut it to size, preferably with a reciprocating saw or portaband saw. An abrasive blade will create too much
heat and compromise the powder coat, possibly melting it. Once the cut it made, use a metal file to file away any burrs or uneven surfaces. You MUST use a rust
inhibiting paint such as Rustoleum and treat the inside and outside of the cut area. The rust inhibiting paint works as a barrier against moisture to prevent rust. This
step cannot be skipped. Let dry for an hour and the rail will be ready to install.
